When Jesus first spoke I didn’t want to hear it
He reminded me of His love through the Holy Spirit
I pushed and pulled – asked Him to leave
I didn’t want to let go – I didn’t want to believe
With every knock – My mind weaponized
Refuting God’s Grace – to not recognize
What Jesus completed – that is so much more
Than repentance of my sins He abhors
His light of love – His last words
Resonate throughout all of the Earth
Father forgive them – They know not what they do
Jesus hung in His purpose though beaten and bruised
To the thief on the cross who saw his transgression
Spoke to Jesus In heart, his last confession
‘It is finished’ was my Savior’s last breath
Love purely divine – He conquered death
As Grace cannot be lost – His FREE GIFT of glory
It is truly – A perfect love story
For all the world, to accept a sacrifice
No matter our sins – He PAID the price
The ultimate penalty at the cross
He died to save all who are lost
Truly God – Truly Man – blood perfectly shed
Atoned for my body – The walking dead
Not an ounce of what I’ve done made an impression
Made of filthy rags – I lay my sins through confession
Regenerate my mind with the Holy Spirit
Which will guide me through life, as I grow to hear it
When death and grave passes – I will not fear a thing
Where is thy victory? – Where is thy sting?
